Sadaqah Jariyah- Alms Giving with continuous reward in life and hereafter

A Muslim thanks Allah for the gift of life, guiding him to the right path of Islam and for  bestowing on him many of His blessings.

Allah says and He promised, “If you are thankful, I will give you more, but if you are thankless, My punishment is terrible indeed.” (Ibrahim 14:7)

When offering prayers, helping the poor and needy,  offering fasting, observing Hajj, being patient with yourself and others at difficult times, Muslims are thanking Allah. So therefore Muslims are urged to give thanks to Allah in the form of Sadaqah Jariyah all the time. Offering Sadaqah Jariyah is not limited to a certain time of the year. Actually the life of a Muslim is all about thanksgiving and gratitude.

There are numerous types of Sadaqah Jariyah but in the following hadith seven are mentioned by name: On the authority of Abu Hurairah (ra) who said, ‘the Prophet (saw) said, “Indeed, the rewards of his actions and good deeds that will reach a believer after his death are:

[1] knowledge which he taught and spread;

[2] a righteous child whom he leaves behind;

[3] a copy of the Qur’an that he leaves as a legacy;

[4] or a masjid that he built;

[5] or a house that he built for wayfarers;

[6] a canal that he dug;

[7] or charity that he gave from his wealth in his good health and life. [These deeds] will reach him  after his death”’. (Sunan Ibn Majah 242)

Islam significantly preaches and promotes kingship and coming together all for the sake of Allah and this (thanksgiving) is all about Allah’s blessings on us all.

NIMAB Welfare Trust and Muslim communities generally encourage every ummah who has got a course to thank Allah on any special occasion and wants to donate towards the cause of Allah s.w.t to contact our Imam, where proper guidance and prayers are offered according to Islamic preaching.

Allah s.w.t is the most worthy of our thanks, praises and gratitude.

Allah promised that if we thank Him, He will give us more. This is a divine promise and we believed that Allah never breaks His promises.
